The 7th entry of the Resident Evil franchise one of the most recognizable names in horror video games comes back to its roots in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard an indirect continuation of resident evil 6. Ethan Winters has just received an email from his wife who has been missing for three years the message was “come get me” and an address in Louisiana, this leads Ethan to an old decrepit plantation mansion in the heart of the bayou, although creeped out by the situation Ethan still continues his search until he is knocked unconscious by an unknown assailant. Ethan wakes up tied up to a chair surrounded by the baker family not knowing the horrors that await him.

  • Survival Horror: with its horror elements harking back to classics of the franchise the gameplay also comes with it; item scarcity and inventory management is the name of the game, saving your bullets is essential if you want to survive.
  • Resident Evil 7 biohazard uses a new engine developed by Capcom called the RE engine with this engine the game can produce photorealistic results and renders objects of various textures to the smallest detail.
  • For the first time in the franchise, RE7 uses a 1st person perspective enhancing the immersive-ness of an already terrifying game.
  • VR capabilities: RE7 can be played in VR exclusively with the PlayStation VR

Reviews

After the fifth and sixth games, the Resident Evil series was in dire need of a re-think. That’s exactly what Capcom have done, and they’ve done so in a way that’s braver, bolder, and more assured than I could ever have dreamed. They’ve refreshed the series for modern times, incorporating new techniques to ensure the horror is both sickening and chilling, while re-focusing the core structure around the things that made these games so great to begin with

Not the dramatic reinvention I expected, but this is tense and refined survival horror with a brilliantly bleak, grimy atmosphere.
